Capital Health is seeking candidates for a Manager – Information Systems Ambulatory EMR within our Information Systems Department. The Manager – Information Systems Ambulatory EMR is located at our facility in Trenton, New Jersey. 
The successful candidate will join Capital Health's Ambulatory Information Services team. The new Cerner EHR supports our clinicians in efficiently documenting and accessing patient information all in one location. Having the most up-to-date patient information at their fingertips supports clinicians in making the most appropriate and informed data-driven decisions.

 

Manager – IS Ambulatory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation and support of the Ambulatory electronic medical record throughout Capital Health practices, providing expertise and experience on development of EMR modules and managing clinical support staff related to the Ambulatory EMR.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all practitioners, staff and vendors involved in the EMR. Coordinate the interactions and dependencies of the Ambulatory EMR related to all other systems.
  • Provide project-focused expertise on clinical EMRs, including interface configuration, workflow, design and project resources and timelines.
  • Maintain vendor and user relationships.
  • Lead project team meetings or work groups. Produce minutes, vendor project correspondence, status reports and project documentation. Stay current on application functionality through formal training, web classes and seminar participation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of operational processes in the physician practice environment.
  • Conduct applicant interviews and participate in the employee selection process. Prepare and conduct performance reviews, disciplinary actions and career planning through compliance with organization policy.
  • Manage the ongoing education of clinical and support staff on the Ambulatory EMR.
  • Manage the implementation, compliance and requirements to achieve meaningful use attestation in the Ambulatory practices.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of related professional experience related to electronic medical records, planning and implementation.

Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced computer skills, working knowledge in clinical workflow and systems analysis and design, and understanding of database concepts.
  • EMR implementation, design and development experience a plus.
